According to co-host Mike Wolfe, American Pickers star Frank Fritz needs time to recuperate after having a stroke.

Wolfe did not immediately provide details regarding Fritz’s condition, but he did ask History Channel viewers to keep him in their hearts and thoughts.

 

Mike Wolfe, the presenter of American Pickers, is wishing his former co-host Frank Fritz well after he had a stroke.

 

In a tweet sent to People on Monday, Wolfe urged Frank’s admirers to give him time to recover.

The 58-year-old History Channel reality show presenter was the first to reveal last week that Fritz, 56, had had a stroke, and neither he nor his staff has provided any updates on his condition.

 

 

Fans were startled when he broadcast his departure in July, Fritz and Wolfe had been on American Pickers since it premiered in 2010.

Wolfe hasn’t talked about Fritz’s departure since then, though he noted in an Instagram statement on Thursday afternoon that there has been much speculation about their friendship.

 

I’ve been extremely secretive about Frank’s life and the path has gone on in the last year, Wolfe continued.

The History Channels American Pickers premiered in 2010 and followed Wolfe, Fritz, and their coworker Danielle Colby as they ran an antique business in Iowa.

 

Wolfe and Fritz are shown touring the country in pursuit of various artifacts from various collectors.

 

Last June, it was reported that Fritz was leaving the program due to a number of health issues, including back surgery and Cohn’s disease.

Fritz, according to Wolfe, is like a brother to me, and he will hope for the absolute best and all wonderful things for him on the next phase of his trip.

 

Fritz, on the other hand, portrayed an entirely different image in an interview with The Sun.

 

Mike's statement was nonsense; someone wrote it for him. We were never buddies in elementary school. I don’t think has said five pleasant things to me in 10 years. Unless he was chopping down someone else and we were both laughing, Fritz explained.

I've been extremely subtle about Frank's life and the trip he's been on, in the last year. There have been many different perspectives on my and Frank's friendship and the play Wolfe penned a piece. Now is not the time to right the record. It is now time for me to pray for my friend.
